Exploring Alexander Springs: Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, and Wildlife Watching in Florida
Alexander Springs, located in central Florida amidst ultra thick swampy/jungle like forest creating green walls along a river that leads you to the springs themself (yes you can swim in it).
Alexander springs is great for kayaking and paddle boarding, or any other floating device that doesn't have an engine. The reason I say no motorized boats is because the ground is blanketed in vegetation but in the springs themselves there is a sandy bottom. This delicate ecosystem is protected. This ecosystem allows you to drift down the river at your own pace while admiring the wildlife due to the light currents. It is great for beginners because of the slow pace and the only thing you have to worry about is alligators, but it is Florida so that's a precaution that has to be taken everywhere
Alexander springs is great for people who love to gaze Apon the animals because there are a variety of astounding birds, fish, crabs, and alligators. There are 2 main colors that you see while paddling. You see the blue water, blue crabs, blue herons, dragonflies, blue skies, and blue fish. And you also see the green vines, trees, frogs, green lizards, turtles, alligators, and all the other vegetation. these colors are very THICK because there is so much of this stuff that it is clearly noticeable. But there is one very big animal that lives here that is green and blue and is also one of the main attractions. The great manatee. Manatees, although bigger than the alligators, are gentle giants. Eat algae that grows on the rocks and roots of trees, but they don't even realize they have algae growing on their own backs, making it look like they have a green blanket growing on their sky-blue body. Alexander springs It is also a great spot for fishing, so cast your line out and start fishing for the fish won't disappoint.
