Kraków
Kraków, being the second oldest city in Poland, although not the capital (it used to be), holds the stars of Poland within itself. From the famous Kraków dragon to the impressive Wawel castle, this city holds many not-so-hidden treasures. But other than the tourist attractions, the city in itself is a wonderful place to visit. Its streets hold traditional cuisine, history, and music.
On the other hand, music to my ears is the sound of people eager to learn about Poland's history by visiting the mighty Wawel. The most visited art museum in Poland. Wawel is an architectural marvel standing at 228 meters (748 feet) above sea level with over 2 million visitors per year. Visiting almost every part of the castle is possible, but personally, I enjoyed the garden and the weaponry the most. It was one of the most underrated parts of the castle, with little to no people. For example, when you think of weapons today, they are bland, black and rarely decorated. But in 970 CE, they put a little more effort into their weapons of choice. There were highly complex and decorated show swords used only for shows, but there were also swords that were designed for battle. The variety of weapons was shocking. There were swords, knives, spears, shields, revolvers, shotguns, bows, crossbows, arrows, slingshots, cannons, and armor. From swords to cannons, this part of the castle was definitely the coolest..

But if relaxing and enjoying the view is more up your alley, the garden is the place for you. With a view of the castles, you can relax and dine at one of the many restaurants nearby. It's also great for taking a stroll around, where you can see all the main pieces of the castle, not to mention the delicately kept flowers in the center
Wawel's garden
but terrorizing the people of ancient Kraków was the Wawel dragon. The Wawel dragon is a fairy tale about a dragon who lived in a cave near the castle and would eat the cattle, livestock, and people. So, as a solution, the dragon was pleased with weak cattle. One day, a young shoemaker made fake cows out of sulfur. The dragon tried to drink out of the river, but water cannot extinguish burning sulfur. And so, his stomach exploded, killing the dragon. But in the present day, this dragon is nothing but a cool tourist attraction to take photos with (although it does shoot fire every couple of minutes).
But history can be boring sometimes, so to take a well-deserved break from all the learning and go shopping in Kraków's iconic Sukiennice clothing hall. but a place that now has souvenirs and outfits, used to be a major international trade center, where merchants from around the world would try to make a profit in the very same hall.
